Quick Blue.

Just a quick one of what I have on now.

Color Club Wicked Sweet. Gorgeous blue with an odd scent. Very sweet but not an identifiable scent.

Devastation then Relief.

I lost my USB that contains ALL my nail photos, and my polish database. Looked for it for days at home. Then ten minutes ago I came to my local library, and someone had handed it in here. Thank you, whoever you are. That's why I've been gone for so long.
This is the mani I wore on Christmas day.

Green - ORLY Here Comes Trouble
Red - Nubar Fire Sparkle
Silver - Color Club Magic Attraction.

It matched my christmas tree which had red and silver baubles, and was green (DUH)

Storage Part I (Pic Heavy)

Finally, I have taken photos of my nail polish storage.

These are my 2 Ikea Lennarts. I realy want an Alex but just can't afford one at the moment. The Lennarts aer only $20 each so I'm happy with them at the moment. They reside in my bathroom between my cupboard and washing machine.

Drawer One: Australis, Ulta3, Rimmel, Miki, Essence, Sally Hansen

Drawer Two: Nubar, Chanel, Gosh, Wet'n'Wild, CND, Faces of Australia, Oroton, Maybelline

and I think my Butter London is in there but I cn't see it. This drawer also has my Frankens and random single polishes.

Drawer Three: Revlon, Crayola, Zoya, Blue Cross, OPI, Klean Color

Drawr Four: BYS and Top Coats, Base Coats, Drying Drops, Thinner Etc.

Drawer Five: China Glaze

Drawer Six: More China Glaze, Color Club, Orly.

Yep, I love Chian Glaze. And it looks so nice all together.

I also have things like foils, glitters, Fimo sticks and other nail art products in two boxes in my book shelf.

Hope you enjoyed my storage post as much as I enjoy all of yours.

My Charts

I will do a storage post very soon. But in the men time here are some pics of the charts I have done in the last couple of days.

The main reason for these charts is because I have a slight prejudice towards the cheaper brands, which is utterly ridiculuos I know, some of them are just as good, if not better than the more expensive ones. I figured if I did these charts I would then choose totally based on colour and not on brand.

I have 5 of these charts altogether, but the fifth has only 5 dots on it.

In other news. My nails do not seem to be getting any healthier, so I may as well resume with the polishing.

Fun With Glue

Anyone remember back in primary school, in art class. When you'd smear PVA glue over your hand just so you could then peel it off.
You can do the same on your fingernails.

Step 1. Waiting for the glue to dry.

Step 2. Apply polish and wait for it to dry. Try not to go over the edge of the glue onto the nail.

Step 3. Peel off glue. And polish

Step 4. Clean nail and a pile of polish

I haven't yet done a full mani with this, or found out how long it will last but I'll let you know.

Teeny Tiny Nubbins

Couldn't help myself. Had to put on some colour after just 2 naked days.
This is 2 coats of Orly Sapphire Silk. I really like it. To me it's a really dark dusty teal.

Chopped

Had to chop my nails. Mostly because I've got bad hayfever at the moment, and with chopped nails I cant hurt myself scratching. And also cause they weren't in very good shape. I'm just hoping that they can grow enough in the next 3 weeks so I can o a good Christmas mani.
Here they are in all their naked, short glory.

On My Favourites List

This nail polish has made it to my favourites list.
OPI - Lucern-tainly Look Marvelous. Greey with purple, pink, green and blue shimmer. At least thats how my eyes see it.
2 coats with top coat.

Pretty Pretty Glitter

This is the gorgeous Wet ' n' Wild glitter, Believe Me It's Real, from the Ice Baby collection. My camera (or photography skills, definately photography skills) aren't as good as other swatches i've seen, but it truly is beautiful. Small blue glitter with meduim purple glitter thrown in too.
Also it's goodbye to my nice shaped nails after today. At work I've been moving books on shelves and have broken corners off six nails. Ah well, maybe it's time for a shape change anyway.

Addition to Urban-Night.

This is with Nubar White Polka Dots added. One coat, no Top Coat, because I didn't do it at home.
Shocking picture I know. Sorry bout that.

Orange and Blue

Just like last time China Glaze Life Preserver was awful to work with. My set of this collection (Anchor's Away) is really really thick. And to make matters worse it really didn't look good with my skin tone. So I put CDN Ice Blue Shimmer on top. Slipghtly better but still only lasted one day with this mani. Please excuse the fluff on my ring finger.

More Cropping Practice

I have discovered it's quite hard to crop a photo weel when it's a bad photo to start with.
This is China Glaze Street Chic

Essence in Australia

Guess what. I found an Essence stand in Camberwell Target. As of last night they had three bottles of th awesome Choose Me!. Which is a dupe for Zoya Charla, OPI Catch Me In Your Net and Orly Halley's Comet. and they're less then $3. Does anyone want me to grab them a bottle?

Cropping... Kinda

This is one of my first attempts at cropping.
I just read Jacie's (You've Got Nail) instructions on how to photograph, and decided to give cropping a go. However I still have a bad case of tension fingers. Must work on this.
This is Orly Glitz and Glamour. I still haven't decided if I like it on me or not. Three coats of a warm gold foil.

Really Bad Orange and a Plea

This is Revlon Orange Fizz, a scented polish. It's smell is yum, yum, yum. But, yet again, I didn't put any base colour underneath and it was really bad. Totally didn't suit my skin tone at all.
P.S Can somebody please find me Santa's Cinnamon and Gingerbread Man from Color Club Scent-tuous Collection. Not available in Australia, silly Australia. :(

Underwear Needed

This is Orly Here Come's Trouble. Three coats. Clearly I need to put a base colour on first.

Layering Mirrors.

As I have run out of remover till tonight I had to do something to extend my mani. So I put on a coat of China Glaze Fault Line, the purple Crackle Glaze

My New Place To Shop... and .... I Made Mirrors.

If you want a fantastic place to buy polish, contact Janet at Boulder Creek Boutique. Lovely lady and so helpful.
And check out the 'custom polish' (Thank you Cathy) that I made. Using the suspension base that Cathy sourced for all of us, and 'Sterling Silver Glitter Powder' from Coastal Scents I made an almost mirror polish. I'll put a few pics in so you can see how well it reflects.

Sunny Shadows

Here is a shadowy sunlight photo of what I'm wearing right now.
China Glaze Paint The Town Red. Two coats with Nubar Diamont on top. I chose this pic because it's the closest to the colour IRL.
Also I have a confession.
Is it bad that I ordered Essence Choose Me when I already have Orly Halley's Comet, OPI Catch Me In Your Net and Zoya Charla. I definately have a problem.

Yay, Yay, Yay

China Glaze + Hunger Games = I Can't Wait. See here for details

Traffic Jam

I always get jealous of bloggers who can think of cool names for their posts. I am not one of them.
In case you hadn't guessed this is China Glaze Traffic Jam from the Metro Collection.
This is an inside photo, even though it was gorgeous in Melbourne on the weekend I am totally incapable of taking photo's in the sun. I even change all the settings and everything. Any tips please?

Secret PeriWinkle with Stamping

Sorry about the shockingly unoriginal title. This is China Glaze Secret PeriWinkle with some cherries stamped on in Konad Special Black.
The reason the photos are of non clean ed up nails is because I didn't like them and took it off straight away. Looking back now I can't actually see why I didn't like it though.

Makes Me Angry

That I can go a whole long weekend and not have anything bad happen to my nails.
And then I get too work and within two hours break three and can see another one on its way.
What makes me happy is the Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe that I wore on the weekend.
This is three coats. I think next time I'll pu a black base coat on first. It's very hard to capture the gloriousness that is ATU

Friday, October 28, 2011

Very Nice Blue

This is China Glaze Blue Iguana from the Island Escape collection. Very nice sparkly blue that went on really well in two coats. I also added a dried flower which made me not like the mani so it came off straight away.
Probably the best application I've ever done with polish though. No clean up necessary.
I'll probably be away from posting and commenting for a few days because it's Melbourne Cup long weekend and my internet is really dodgy at home.
Have a great weekend everybody.

It's Alive

China Glaze It's Alive is all over the place at the moment. It's been in my stash for a couple of weeks now, and after seeing everone else's pics I figured I'd give it a shot. I really don't like the look of it in the bottle but love, love, love it on my nails. I keep getting distracted by looking at them

Yay

Yay. I just saw I got to 100 followers. Thank so much everyone for following me.

Hospital Times

I think this is China Glaze Haunting.
Can't really remember though. I put it on on Tuesday night right before I had to take B to hospital, for kidney stones.
It's now Thursday and he's still there, but hopefully home sometime today.
Funniest thing was, I managed to talk to 6 different nurses about polish while I was there.

Getting Distracted

Last night in the middle of doing my nails, B came home and said we were going out to dinner. I figured I could just put top coat on when I got home. Not so much. Got very dinted polish now. Will have to take it off and replace tonight.
Two coats of China Glaze Tree Hugger.

Back To Normal Transmission

My school holidays have finished so it's back to work today. Three weeks spent carefully cultivating my nails and what happens. Last night the middle on on the left hand broke down to the bed. And because I don't like them being that uneven I chopped them all.
And apparently in chopping lost all my ability in putting polish on well. My right hand cuticles are ridiculously flooded right now.
This is 2 coats of Zoya Alegra, sparkly, sparkly pink.
And apparently

I also lost my minor bit of skill in taking photo's.

Quick question, do you use a point and shoot or a DSLR?

I'm Back

Not that I've been anywhere, it's just really hard to get a computer at the library during scholl holidays. Should be back to normal transmissions on Monday.

I've been swatching for my database the last couple of days.

Here is an example.

This is Sally Hansen Cherry Red. An old one but probably the truest red I own.

More sad news though, Cleo, who was Custards best friend died the day after Custard did. We were expecting it because they were alsways within 2 centimetres of each other, and they were both very old but still quite sad. At least they're together though.

It's Chanel, Dahling

Here is a full mani of Chanel Peridot.

Dont forget to enter my giveaway, here.

Very sad day yesterday as our favourite fish dies. The same one that we thought we'd lose a couple of months ago, he held out this long, but yesterday was his time. RIP Custard.

Back from Lakes Entance.

Hi, we're back from our fishing trip to Lakes Entrance. Between the two of us we had a grand total of three fish from four days fishing. And none of them was over 12cm long. Not that we keep them anyway all fish go back in the water. Half the time I just tie my bait to the line without a hook, just so I can watch them eating. I don't actually want to catch anything, that's icky.

Here is the polish that I wore down there. Wet ' ' Wild Grey's Anatomy.
It's a gorgeous duochrome, purple-green, but very very sheer. THis is four coats and still have VNL. Even after 3 days it was still on perfectly. Then we ent in a spa at the local swimming pool. And it all came off. Perfectly in the shape of the nail still and not a bit left on the nail bed. Best polish remover ever. But odd.

WOWOWOWOW

This stuff is fantastic. We all know how good the colour is, but the wear is great too.

Chanel Peridot. ONE COAT, no topcoat. 4 DAYS. Teeniest bit of wear, but I have had three showers and washed 3 sets of dishes. It is amazing.

Probably, you're wondering why its only on one finger. It's my Chanel, it's too good, surely I can't be expected to use it. If I use it, it will be gone. Actually it's my dad's 60th next weekend so I'm saving the full mani until then.

I'm off to Lakes Entrance for a few days, so I won't be around. Wish I was going to Sydney for the ABBW though. Definately be there next time. Have lots of fun all you lovelies who are going.

Also to everyone who I usually write comments on. For some reason Blogger won't let me log in to your blogs and so I can't leave comments. I'm so sorry.

Random Post For Today

Check out the giveaways I've entered.
But try not to win if you enter too cause there's some things I'd really like to win myself.

Rrrrrrrgghhhh. Another No-Dry

This time it was China Glaze Westside Warrior.
Odd cuase I don;t usually have trouble with CG. Two coats of WW then one of Diamont and 3 hours before going to bed and still sheet marks. Pity cause it's a stunning colour.
Iv'e decided to blame the fact that I have shocking cirulation and my hands were freezing cold.
